ANALYSIS OF SENTENCES

Converte hās sententiās Latīnē -

Before translating, analyze each sentence and mark it up. Identify the subject(s) with an "S" and the verb or verb phrase with a "V". If the verb is a linking verb there may be a predicate nominative (either a noun or an adjective): show this with a "PN". If the verb has a direct object mark that with a "DO". Put parentheses (...) around prepositional phrases. Use an arrow to connect adjectives, and genitives, with the nouns they modify.

1. The villa of Julius has a peristyle (with a small garden). Vīlla Iūliī habet peristylum cum parvō hortō.

2. Aemilia is not in the town Tusculum with Julius.

3. Aemilia and the children are in the garden.

4. Marcus and Quintus laugh at little Julia.

5. Julia takes one rose and goes away from the boys.

6. Aemilia: "Boys, take four roses and put them in water!"

7. They are getting water from the impluvium in the atrium.

8. But now Quintus is in the impluvium.

9. He is splashing the water and calling Aemilia.

10. Marcus is laughing.

11. His mother is angry.
